Libra Yes They Are
Share
Hi guys, and welcome to another blog Wednesday.
First off, I have a very important question for you. This question is the result of spending my weekend watching “Love is Blind” and it’s a question that has made me end relationships. Who do you prefer, Will Ferrell or Adam Sandler? There is only one correct answer, choose wisely.
These past few weeks, different events have happened in the workshop. It was the day of the seamstress on October 14th and we celebrated it by giving more work to the people in the workshop. Believe it or not, we did give them some skulls so that those who wanted to participate could dress them as they wished. Below I share the results.
Emily
Inspired by Tim Burton's famous movie "Planet of the Apes." Emily returns this year in the form of a skull with her signature blue hair. Veil made of illusion tulle, ivory satin bridal gown with 3D flower embroidery details. The author added more realistic details with a blue Bic pen, to highlight the contrasts in the fine satin. Emily's hobbies include but are not limited to: forcing men to marry her, playing the piano and dissociating into a butterfly shape.
Leticia
With details of the new catrina marigold embroidery. Leticia is sporting a pleated skirt made of craft paper and black illusion tulle, along with a matching fan. Leticia is also sporting traditional catrina makeup, finishing the look with different colored marigold flowers made of satin. Leticia enjoys walks on the beach and sunny days.
Candy
Caramelo has a dress made by one of our star seamstresses in the workshop. Dress made of yellow lining with embroidered flowers of fuchsia, yellow and blue threads that delicately go down to the hem of the skirt. Caramelo also has a top made of capirotada fabric and an organza lining. To finish her look, Caramelo has delicate pink pearls adorning her eyes and straight black hair. Caramelo's favorite activities include going to all the Mexican soccer games and her favorite candy is... you know it... malbabón.
The brightest, you say
The Shiniest One comes with bendable limbs. She shows off her bald head Sasha Velour style with a crown with gold sequin details. The Shiniest One, you say, wears a tunic made of the honey bustier fabric, as well as paper mache earrings and thin false eyelashes. The Shiniest One loves karaoke and competing in lip-sync battles against her worst enemies.
Catrina Garbancera
Catrina Garbancera is wearing a dahlia sequin dress with a mermaid cut and dropped shoulders. To finish off her autumn look, Catrina Garbancera wears a marigold embroidery on her head. Catrina Garbancera enjoys sewing in her free time and proudly wears a dress that she made herself.
Star
The definition of “Skinny Legend.” Estrella sports silver thread earrings, a black satin skirt which accentuates her tiny waist. The skirt also has silver star embroidery details. Estrella also leaves it all to the imagination with her star embroidery bra. Her hobbies include being a support for her daughter Catrina Garbancera who is her greatest pride.
Gregoria
Gregoria is wearing one of our most popular pieces, a satin dress with “Saturn Devouring His Son” printed on the front. Gregoria has cap sleeves made of black illusion tulle with delicate pearl detailing on the shoulder. She shows off her blonde hair with a black spider web veil and a failed dinobustier top hat. Gregoria describes her perfect day as April 25th, because it’s not too hot or too cold and a light jacket is more than enough.
Indecent
Indecente wears a little bit of everything and at the same time, she wears nothing. She wears a cape made of yellow lining with details of floral fabric, fine red, ivory and pink tulle. On the back it has embroidered capirotada and black constellations, as well as satin bougainvillea on the neck. Indecente's eyes sparkle like diamonds and she has a surprise on the bottom, which gives her her name. In her free time, Indecente likes to go to church and donate to charity.
Frankenstein
Frankensteina wears a satin bougainvillea skirt with a top made of Agatha tulle. She wears a headdress made of the same material as her skirt, with fine Gregoria embroidery details, as well as a pair of Gregoria flowers covering her top. Frankensteina goes against Eurocentric beauty standards and wears one leg on one arm and one arm on one leg. Frankensteina hates television and describes herself as a different girl who prefers to drink coffee and read a good book.
Tiki
Tiki...
As you can see, the workshop members really put effort and love into all their creations. We put it all to a vote to award them their first, second and third place prizes.
The votes were very close and there was even a vote for Claudia Sheinbaum, but the results were as follows:
With 18 votes, he came in third place.

Many thanks to all the participants
As we prepare to say goodbye to October, we also welcomed our Employee of the Quarter winner, Oralia! Oralia has been working with us since 2021 and is one of our bustier seamstresses, back when the workshop was in its development stage. Congratulations, Oralia, a well-deserved award for all your work here at the workshop.
Your legacy will live forever, reign with wisdom
Finally, last Thursday we celebrated all the October birthday boys and girls in the workshop.
